Edwin Escobar, a foreign pitcher from Venezuela who plays for the Yokohama DeNA Baystars, has released a threatening message.
Escobar posted a picture on social media on the 3rd and said, “This person has been insulting me since yesterday’s game.” On social media, a person captured a message to Escobar saying, “Your entire family will die in a car accident. A pitiful black animal.”
Escobar came out in the 8th inning against the Hanshin Tigers on the 2nd and was hit by a two-run four, recording 2 hits and 2 runs in 1 inning.
He said, “No one is as devoted to the team and work as I am. I give my 200% in every game. My colleagues and I work hard to give our fans pleasure every day, in every game.”
He continued, “This message to my family and not to me makes me even more angry. I ask that you respect me and my family.”
NPB has recently suffered from a headache with SNS messages containing criticism towards players.
