‘Chosun’s number 4 hitter’ Lee Dae-ho (41) will throw the first pitcher in a home game for the Softbank Hawks of the Japanese professional baseball team.
According to Japanese Daily Sports reports, Softbank announced on the 21st that Lee Dae-ho will throw the first pitch in the home game against the Chiba Lotte Marines at the Paypay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan on the 28th.
Lee Dae-ho, who debuted in the KBO League in 2001 and rose to become the league’s top hitter, chose to challenge the Japanese stage after the 2011 season.
Lee Dae-ho played for Orix Buffaloes from 2012 to 2013, and played for Softbank for two years from 2014 to 2015. In 2014 he posted a batting average of .300 with 19 homers and 68 RBIs, and in 2015 he posted a batting average of .282 with 31 homers and 98 RBIs.
Lee Dae-ho has experienced an integrated championship for two consecutive years at Softbank.
In particular, in the 2015 Japan Series, with a batting average of 0.500, 2 home runs and 8 RBIs, he became the first Korean player ever to win the Japan Series Most Valuable Player (MVP).
