Kim Jin-soo was humble.
Jeonbuk Hyundai won 2-0 against Ulsan Hyundai in the 16th round of the ‘Hana 1 Q K League 1 2023’ held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 4:30 pm on the 3rd. With 3 points, Jeonbuk maintained 7th place.
The beginning of the first half was tight,먹튀검증 but as time went on, Jeonbuk began to fall behind Ulsan. Jeonbuk used various attack routes, such as a long pass from the rear to Gustavo in the forefront, and attacks using the flanks with Kim Jin-soo and Jung Woo-jae, but were unable to break through Ulsan’s defense. Rather, it allowed Ulsan several threatening chances, and it was pushed back to the point where it should be considered fortunate that it did not concede.
However, there was one room in Jeonbuk. In the 39th minute of the second half, Jo Kyu-seong, who was in front of the goal, headed a cross from Jun Amano to split the net. It was a joint goal created by two players who were put in in the second half. In other words, acting Kim Doo-hyun’s replacement card worked.
Jeonbuk took advantage of the urgent gap in Ulsan to drive a wedge. Jeonbuk, who had a chance to counterattack in extra time in the second half, widened the gap with Moon Seon-min, who received Song Min-gyu’s pass, scoring a key goal. The match ended with Jeonbuk’s 2-0 victory.
Kim Jin-soo, who started as a starter that day, actively participated in the attack as usual and took charge of Jeonbuk’s left flank. In the 33rd minute of the second half, he sent a low and quick cross to Cho Kyu-sung from the left flank. In the 3rd minute of the second half, he prevented the opponent’s decisive situation, such as blocking Rubik’s son’s dribble breakthrough in front of the goal.
After the match, I met Kim Jin-soo in the Mixed Zone. After a short game impression, Kim Jin-soo talked about the importance of his mental strength when asked if he was in a good situation physically. His mental strength and mentality are the parts that Acting Kim Doo-hyun has consistently emphasized. When asked for a little more explanation, Kim Jin-soo said, “I think that the physical burden is a problem that will disappear if we win the game. I don’t think there’s much of a problem with my skills, but when I went out to the stadium, I talked a lot about how I thought and what I could do well.”
Jeonbuk lost the last match against Pohang Steelers, but immediately succeeded in reversing the mood by winning against Ulsan. Although there is a difference in the rankings between Ulsan and Jeonbuk, a victory in the rivalry could be a good opportunity to boost the team atmosphere. However, Kim Jin-soo was resolute.
Kim Jin-soo said, “I think we just won one team, just like we did with other teams. What is important to us now is not our rivals. There are no games that are not important. Ulsan doesn’t double the joy,” he said calmly.
Jeonbuk climbed to 6th place for a while with the victory, but fell back to 7th place due to the results of other teams’ matches. Still, it is encouraging that the gap in points is gradually narrowing. Kim Jin-soo expressed his thoughts on Jeonbuk’s goal, saying, “The league isn’t over yet, and we still have the FA Cup and the Asian Champions League (ACL) left. I think the goal is to do well in the remaining games and win the championship.”
Meanwhile, manager Jurgen Klinsmann visited the stadium that day. Kim Jin-soo was unaware of this fact, and when he spoke in the Mixed Zone, he said he had heard it for the first time. Coach Klinsman is expected to select new faces for the A-match call this June, but many expect Kim Jin-soo to be fixed at the left fullback position.
However, Kim Jin-soo said that there was no obvious selection. Kim Jin-soo said, “I never thought that I would always be on the list every time the time came for the list to come out. So, if the opportunity comes, I want to play for the country again.”
