Poole gave Wiggins super compliments.
Golden State Warriors’ Jordan Poole recently appeared on ‘Dubs Talk’. He was referring to his colleague Andrew Wiggins on this occasion.
Wiggins entered the NBA with the 1st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Shortly after his nomination, he was traded from the 메이저사이트 Cleveland Cavaliers to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Thanks to this, Wiggins was guaranteed more playing time and was able to play an active role.
But Wiggins suffered from the stigma of being the ace of an underdog team. He averaged 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists over six seasons with Minnesota. However, he only made it to the playoffs once, and was eliminated in the first round.
Poole said, “Andrew Wiggins has been playing for Minnesota for a long time. He came into the game with a lot of weight on his shoulders.”
Even when Wiggins joined Golden State, there were not a few doubts about him. But Wiggins proved his worth last season.
Wiggins averaged 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season, becoming Golden State’s main player and enjoying the honor of being selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career.
“I’ve seen Wiggins come to our team and take a lot of the load off and become his true self. He put on a top-notch performance and silenced his critics,” said Poole.
Wiggins’ strength is his versatility. He raised his 3-point shooting percentage to an average of 39.4% through numerous practices at Golden State.
Wiggins played a perfect role in blocking opponent aces such as Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum in the last playoffs and made a great contribution to the championship.
“We know Wiggins has put in a lot of effort to be a quality shooter, and he’s versatile. We know that Wiggins is a great one-on-one attacker and an amazing defender. Also, Wiggins is very athletic.” said
He continued, “Wiggins is learning naturally. He’s providing spacing for the team as he becomes an elite level three-point shooter. That’s huge.”
