Defender Park Jin-seop (28, Jeonbuk), who was selected as a wild card for ‘Hwangseonhongho’, showed a great sense of responsibility to lead his juniors well.
The Asian Games soccer team, led by head coach Hwang Seon-hong, will be convened at Paju NFC on the afternoon of the 25th to prepare for three days.
Only 14 of the 21 players selected for the final Asian Games participated in the training that day. Of the 22 players in the Asian Games team, only 21 players have been confirmed as Lee Sang-min (Seongnam), who had a controversy over drunk driving in the past, was excluded from the entry.
In addition to Park Jin-seop, who was selected as a wild card, Baek Seung-ho (26, Jeonbuk) and Seol Young-woo (25, Ulsan) did not join due to team K-League All-Star Game training.
According to the Korea Football Association (KFA), this is the first time Park Jin-seop has worn the Taegeuk mark, including the national team by age group. Park Jin-seop made his K-League debut with Ansan Greeners in 2018 and transferred to Jeonbuk in January of last year through Daejeon Hana Citizen.
In Jeonbuk, Park Jin-seop’s skills were in full bloom. He continued to play as a defensive midfielder and center back, and Park Jin-seop was called by coach Hwang.
Park Jin-seop, who stood in front of the reporters, said, “I am honored to be selected for the first time in the honor of being on the national team,” and “I promised myself that I would prepare hard.”
Park Jin-seop, a wild card and the team’s oldest, is likely to take on the center of defense at Hwang Seon-hong.
Park Jin-seop explained, “Coach Hwang told me that he wanted me to lead in terms of defense and organization.” “I have to lead the players because I’m the oldest. Being a wild card is an important position, so I pay a lot of attention to leading the team.”
When asked why he was selected, he said, “The manager must have selected me because he was a member of the captain’s team in Jeonbuk and saw his organization and leadership.”
The Asian Games national team selected Jo Hyun-woo (Ulsan), Son Heung-min (Tottenham), and Hwang Ui-jo (Nottingham) as wild cards at the Palembang Jakarta tournament four years ago. Some point out that compared to them, Park Jin-seop, Seol Young-woo, and Baek Seung-ho, who were selected this time, have a lot of weight.먹튀검증
