Women’s professional volleyball Pepper Savings Bank AI Peppers has settled down in Gwangju, its hometown, and is active in earnest even in the off-season.
AI Peppers announced on the 7th that it has completed the transfer of the clubhouse from Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do to Gwangju Metropolitan City.
AI Peppers has prepared a training ground and training facilities for players in its home stadium, Pepper Stadium. Club and coaching staff offices also utilize Pepper Stadium. Accommodation utilizes apartment facilities within walking distance of Pepper Stadium. A player-only restaurant and treatment room are also provided in the apartment.
An official from the club explained, “As we have all the facilities necessary for the operation and training of the club in the Gwangju area, we have settled down in a true sense of connection.”
AI Peppers had to set up training facilities for the team as soon as possible in order to participate in the Dodram V-League in the 2021-22 season immediately after its official launch in September 2021. For this reason, they have been renting and using facilities located in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, rather than their hometown of Gwangju.
This move is expected to reduce the distance traveled by athletes by about 2,000 km per year. It is expected that the players will be able to concentrate on training in a more pleasant environment, which will greatly help improve their physical condition.
Following the relocation of the clubhouse, AI Peppers plans to expand opportunities to communicate with local fans and promote various projects to develop volleyball culture in the region.
On the 10th, June environment month, the athletes and 300 citizens of Gwangju will hold a flogging event to take a walk and pick up trash to clean up the local environment. Events such as a fan signing event for citizens near the lodging where the athletes will be staying are also being planned. In addition, we plan to have closer exchanges with the amateur volleyball team in Gwangju and the youth club operated by AI Peppers.
Kim Dong-eon, head of AI Peppers, said, “I am very happy to be able to settle down in Gwangju, the hometown of AI Peppers, and I am grateful to Gwangju City for helping AI Peppers receive a lot of love and attention in its hometown.” Through this, we will put more effort into establishing and expanding the base of volleyball culture in the local community, and we will get closer to the fans in the local community.”토토사이트
Meanwhile, AI Peppers plans to provide accommodations for the athletes in the suburbs of Seoul separately, so that their players do not experience any inconvenience when visiting Seoul for personal business.
