Major League Baseball (MLB) Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Drew Rasmussen was listed on the 60-day injured list (IL) the day after winning his fourth win of the season with a good pitching of 7 scoreless innings.
The Tampa Bay team announced on the 13th (Korean time) that Rasmussen was placed on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow flexor sprain.메이저놀이터
Rasmussen posted his 4th win (2nd loss) of the season with 2 hits and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings in an away game against the New York Yankees on the 12th. However, he felt discomfort in his right elbow while throwing, and a close examination revealed that his elbow was in poor condition.
Rasmussen has had two elbow ligament splicing surgeries (Tommy John surgery) in March 2016 and August 2017, but this time he doesn’t seem to be on the operating table.
“The pain isn’t serious. It’s just that the nerves are a bit sensitive,” he said.
Rasmussen made 8 starts this season with an average ERA of 2.62, 4 wins and 2 losses, and led Tampa Bay’s high-flying march with the overall win rate (30 wins, 9 losses, 0.769) in the major leagues. However, the injury forced a long-term absence.
Tampa Bay has lost a lot of starting pitcher resources. Tyler Glasnow, who was excluded from the opening roster, is also recovering from a left oblique muscle injury, and Jeffrey Springs was out for the season after undergoing an elbow ligament joint surgery last month.
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay called up right-handed pitcher Chris Mueller from minority triple-A due to Rasmussen’s departure.
